An Unforgettable Trip

Have you ever had an unforgettable traveling experience? I was fortunate to participate in a four-month Work and Travel program in Yellowstone National Park when I was in college. The experience of being surrounded by the natural scenery and the experience of taking adventures in the park made my trip unforgettable

During these months, I had experienced the beautiful nature in the park such as the lake, the stars and the forest. I worked as a busser in the restaurant where I can see the big lake right through the windows all day. At dawn, the light was misty in the lake. During the day, the lake surface was Turkey blue if sunny but changed elusively if cloudy. At night, the lake was cast with starlight and, occasionally, the reflection of the Moon. On the way back dorm after the exhausting work, I lost myself watching the Milky Way and the Big Dipper in the dark sky above the forest. In contrast to the urban life in Taiwan now, I missed much the seemingly monotonous but indeed magical nature beauty in Yellowstone.

On holidays, I adventured with friends to explore this place full of stunning natural landscapes such as the geysers, glacial valleys, hot springs and the wild-open field. One of the unforgettable experiences was hiking in Grand Canyon of Yellowstone with my roommate.We got up early and took the challenge of the popular hiking rim from one end to another. At each stop of the trail, we stood on the landmark spot to peek at one aspect of this significant canyon. At the end, we reached the Inspiration Point where we had the panoramic view and conquered this challenging trial.

These exciting experiences in Yellowstone truly expanded the vision of my life and motivated me to further explore other natural wonders in the world. Next exciting adventure? I can’t wait!
