Substituting the nouns/adjectives/adverbs in the sentence by noun/adj/adv clauses

I personally rate the importance of this concept 6 stars. The simple but practical idea is exactly the key to understand 90% of the English sentences. However, seldom high teachers organize these ideas coherently and provide students a clear map of English sentence structure.

Sentences serve as a word
Noun clauses are nouns in sentence form. Adjective clauses are adjectives in sentence forms. Adverb clauses are adverbs in sentence form.

形容詞子句

I like the beautiful girl 我喜歡漂亮的女孩
I like the girl who is beautiful 我喜歡漂亮的女孩

比較一下這兩個句子,其實不難發現, "who is beautiful" 這個子句,整句話就是個形容詞

I like the girl (who is standing in the street). 我喜歡(那個站在街上)的女孩

從這個句子可以看得出來,中文的習慣堅持要把形容詞放在名詞前面,不論形容詞有多長.英文
則是可以接受把形容詞放在名詞後面.整個形容詞子句"who is standing in the street." ,以功能來講,其實就是個形容詞.也就是說,我們可以把一整個句子修改成形容詞子句,放在一個名詞後面,當作修飾名詞的形容詞.
